Rinehart Trail... A link on the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail

Florida bike trails, Orlando biking, Rinehart TrailFlorida bike trails, Orlando biking, Rinehart Trail

The Rinehart Trail is considered a "connector" trail since it links several Seminole County trails and is part of the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail. Funding has been approved to fill in several gaps in the trail. Mostly along the road, there is little to no shade. (Detailed map and photos below.)

From the convergence of the Cross Seminole and Seminole Wekiva trails at the I-4 bridge in Lake Mary, the trail follows Rinehart Road, SR46, Monroe Road and US 17-92 to Wayside Park. From here, it will cross the St. John's River to link into the Spring-to-Spring Trail. It also will connect to the Sanford Riverwalk, once the Riverwalk is completed.

Comments by Mudfish: This "connector" trail runs along roads with no shade, many business entrances and some large road crossings. Not a recreational destination on its own but as part of the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail and a link to other Seminole County trails.
Rinehart Road to Lake Monroe
From the convergence of the Seminole-Wekiva and Cross Seminole trails at the I-4 bridge, the trail continues along Rinehart Road; several "gaps" need completion to US 17-92 near the St. John's River / Lake Monroe. A future link over the river will connect to the Spring-to-Spring Trail - a paved trail link is planned, but Lake Monroe Park (and the Spring-to-Spring Trail) is directly across the river, perhaps one day a ferry will run between the two!
