Many benches to relax and enjoy, while historic markers tell about the area. Wildlife along the shore include alligators, turtles and various birds. The park was recently (2019) upgraded, kudos to the city for this pleasant diversion from tourist-world! The one-mile path is an easy ride enjoyed by many bikers, runners, groups, families and individuals - be watchful for children and pedestrians.
Starting from Big Toho Marina, the path leads past playgrounds, picnic pavilions, two spits into the lake (at the Marina and at the "lighthouse"), the observation and fishing piers, Ruby Plaza, the American Legion, Berlinsky Community House, a rain garden, and the Bataan-Corrigidor Memorial. At that point, it goes roadside along Lakeshore Blvd. to Neptune Road - this is the newest section. At Neptune Road, it's a short distance to Brinson Park.
Brinson Park has parking, a fishing pier, restrooms, and picnic facilities. It's actually on both sides on Neptune Road (north and south) with parking and picnic available at both. The main pathway runs on the south side, to the pier. Continuing past the parking lot it crosses a canal, where the Neptune Road Recreational Pathway starts. From here, it's mostly roadside 8 miles to St. Cloud.
From the Marina running south is a new section connecting to the Shingle Creek Regional Trail. Ultimately, this will be extended to connect to the western sections of the trail at Steffee Landing, etc.
Leaving the Marina, a path runs along both sides of Lakeview Drive, then they converge at a cycle track. The track runs along Lakeview Drive to Clyde Ave. (about 900 feet), where the Shingle Creek Regional Trail begins. Shingle Creek Regional Trail then continues alongside Clyde St. for about 1/4 mile before turning off through a natural area along Lake Toho, over a boardwalk, and continuing to the temporary trail end (about a mile).
